Internationaler Aufbaustudiengang "MSc Landscape Ecology and Nature Conservation" an der Universität Greifswald ab Oktober 2007
Der englischsprachige, zweijährige Studiengang verbindet Landschaftsökologie, Biologie, Umweltethik, Geowissenschaften und Umweltökonomie. Er richtet sich an Postgraduierte (Master oder vergleichbarer Abschluss) aus allen Teilen der Welt, die bereits Berufserfahrung besitzen. Die Studierenden werden zu Experten ausgebildet, die in der Lage sind, weltweit die drängenden Probleme des Natur- und Umweltschutzes zu analysieren und Lösungen dafür zu entwickeln., Start: Oktober 2007, Anmeldefrist: 15. New International MSc programme "Ecology" at at the University of Bremen starts on October 20, 2008. Applications from European and Non-European students with a background in biology, ecology or a related subject are welcome. All courses are offered in English. The Master of Ecology is multidisciplinary and contains many innovative elements such as a mentoring programme, integrated skills courses, supporting online material, scientific projects, and individual research training. Der Internationale Masterstudiengang „Arid Land Studies“ findet im Rahmen des transatlantischen Studienprogramms ATLANTIS statt und wird gemeinschaftlich von der Texas Tech University (USA) und den beiden europäischen Partnern, der University of Sheffield (UK) und der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, angeboten. Der Studiengang vermittelt fachübergreifendes Wissen aus den Bereichen Geografie, Geologie, Biodiversitätsforschung, Biologie, Bodenkunde, Agrarwissenschaften, Hydrologie und Klimaforschung in Bezug auf aride Ökosysteme. In Übereinstimmung mit den Zielen des ATLANTIS- Programms trägt „Arid Land Studies“ zur Stärkung der transatlantischen Mobilität und der Fremdsprachenkenntnisse bei und ermöglicht interkulturelle Erfahrungen.

The University of Bayreuth, Department of Biogeography in collaborationwith University of Augsburg and Wurzburg, with that of Bavarian researchinstitutions, and economic, administrative and international organizationsis offering the international elite masters study program Global ChangeEcology (GCE) since October 2006. GCE is a new interdisciplinary studyprogram devoted to studying, researching and understanding the mostimportant and consequential environmental concern of the 21st century;namely, Global Change and its drivers.I am writing this e-mail to please ask you to help us identify potentialcandidates among your students or Colleagues by distribute or posting theattached info leaflet in your respective institutions.
