About us
The YoMos were founded in 2005 during the annual conference of the GfÖ. Doctoral and diploma/master's students decided to establish a network for the exchange of experience in all possible areas of ecological modeling.
Every year in spring, a workshop is held with the aim of giving young scientists working in the field of ecological modeling a platform to present their work in a relaxed atmosphere and to exchange information about the research of others and relevant methods. In addition to this workshop, there is an annual meeting at the GfÖ conference, at which current topics and the organization of the next workshop are discussed.
At the heart of the YoMo organization is the English-language wiki (www.yomos.org), where anyone interested is invited to register. The wiki is used to disseminate news and plan new events. This page also provides access to the email distribution lists, which play a key role for the YoMos. In addition to a general mailing list where news of all kinds is discussed, the job mailing list is particularly relevant for young researchers at the beginning of their career.
All Bachelor, Master or PhD students and anyone else who feels like a young modeler is cordially invited to register in the wiki, participate in the workshop or simply contact us at the e-mail address below if you are interested.
